Amazon KDP Free Promotion Results and the New Beta Pricing Suggestion Tool Well, the KDP Free book promotion is over, the results are in, the downloads have been counted and verified and I can now announce the results. It made number #1 in the amazon bookstore for a number of categories. I am aware that this is only the start and I have a lot of work to do to get the book into the top of the amazon best sellers in the paid results which means it is making money. However, this was a good start, and I am told that, as the reviews come in, it will help to start the sales coming in. I listed the book two weeks ago and enrolled it into KDP Select program which allows you to do a free download promotion for 5 days out of 90 days. This is the minimum time it has to be in the select program and you are not allowed to sell it on any other platform while it is in the program. I decided to go for 3 days Friday, Saturday and Sunday, although based on the results below, I think I would only do a 2

Officially A Number 1 Amazon Best Selling Author

Well it is official, I am officially a Number 1 Amazon Best Selling Author we have made it to the number one spot in the highly competitive marketing category on amazon.com and number two on amazon.co.uk in two categories, Computing and Marketing & Sales. Now, whilst I am excited at getting to the top of the amazon kindle store. After all I think it is quite an achievement, it is in the free section and, of course I am happy to be there and quite proud of the performance so far, the key is whether the book continues to sell once it is in the paid section. After all, if I don t earn any money from it then I may be able to boast that I am a number one best selling author but, I will be a poor amazon best selling author. Now I am no Shakespeare, but the question needs to be asked. Shall it be Free or not for free? However, before I get to that I wanted to give you an update. I have spent so much time trying to learn the best way to sell on amazon kindle. There are so many different opinions on the best way to write, format, upload and market your book, I got myself quite confused. I have produced a few training courses over the years and have quite a lot of my own websites. I also sell physical products on Amazon and ebay.  SEO and online marketing is my forte, and I would say I am pretty clued up when it comes to ranking websites and using social media. Kindle however, is new to me and it is taking me some time to get to know and understand the best way to promote my book. I am not sure why as I usually get to grips with these things fast enough.
